ERIC EDHOLM: It's been a little while since we've seen LSU wide receiver Ja'Marr Chase, who opted out for the 2020 season, and it's easy to forget just how good he was. 20 touchdowns as a 19-year-old against SEC competition for the National Champion Tigers.
On the upside, physically speaking, he is ready for the NFL right now. Built tough with great play strength but also fast feet and tremendous body control as well. On the downside, we'd like to see him clean up his route running a little bit, and he's neither ultrafast nor extremely big.
For an NFL comp, we, admittedly, had a little bit of trouble with this one. But how about Hines Ward? We have to go back a little bit, but another top instinctive and highly productive wide receiver in the NFL.
