One Jacksonville Jaguars victory failed to change what Jalen Ramsey says is the underlying issue in his relationship with the team.

The disgruntled cornerback maintained his stance toward the team’s front office during an appearance on Uninterrupted's "17 Weeks" Podcast on Sirius XM/Pandora, saying that he and the team just can’t overcome a lack of respect.

"I'm not sure if I've played my final game for the Jags yet or not but my trade request still stands," Ramsey said. "For me, respect is a huge thing. I kinda touched on it a little bit last week in last week's podcast but once respect is lost for both parties I think it is time to part ways.

"I'm going to continue being a top corner in this league for years to come. The money will come, but money isn't everything. Peace and happiness means a lot more than the money."

Ramsey’s request to be traded from the Jaguars went public last week, and there’s been no shortage of drama ever since.

The Jaguars have said they don’t plan to trade the Pro Bowler and team owner Shad Khan has been reported to want to give him the richest contract for a cornerback in the NFL.

Perhaps not coincidentally, Ramsey opened this week of practice by calling sick, then missed another practice with a back injury. He has since left the team indefinitely for the birth of his daughter.

Several teams are reportedly interested in adding Ramsey, but so far none have been apparently willing to meet the Jaguars’ asking price, which reportedly starts at two first-round picks.
