Jalen McDaniels out for Sixers vs. Cavaliers due to right hip contusion

The Philadelphia 76ers will pay a visit to the Cleveland Cavaliers on Wednesday to kick off a three-game road trip and a stretch where they will play seven of their next eight games on the road.

They will face the Cavaliers on Wednesday short-handed as they will be without a key bench piece in Jalen McDaniels. The Sixers acquired McDaniels at the deadline back on Feb. 9 and the versatile guard suffered a right hip contusion in Sunday’s win over the Washington Wizards.

After missing practice on Tuesday and being listed as questionable for the matchup, the Sixers have ruled McDaniels out for this matchup. His absence will be felt against a very good perimeter Cavs team.

The Cavs offer two explosive guards in the form of Darius Garland and Donovan Mitchell and McDaniels was going to be a very important part of slowing them down.

Tipoff from Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse is set for 7:30 p.m. EDT.
