Jalen Hurts sheds sleeve on his knee: Everything is trending forward
Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts’ left knee was bothering him by the end of the Week 7 win over the Dolphins, and he wore a sleeve on the knee in the second half. He re-injured the knee in the victory over the Cowboys in Week 9 but played through it.
After an off week, Hurts returned to practice Thursday without the sleeve.
"I was not [wearing the sleeve]," Hurts said, via video from the team. "I think time is a sign of progress. The bye week came at a great time. We all took advantage of that or tried to take advantage of that time off. Everything is trending forward."
Hurts never appeared on the practice report with the knee injury, but John Clark of NBC Philadelphia reports that the quarterback had a bone bruise.
Hurts said he took time off, got treatment and conducted self-scouting and reflection over the past week.
“Like I said, the bye couldn’t have come at a better time," Hurts said. "I think a lot of the guys on the team took advantage of that time, just being able to refresh and obviously getting ready for this second half of the year. So, I think it's been good for us all."
Hurts has thrown for 2,347 yards with 15 touchdowns and eight interceptions and has run for 316 yards and seven touchdowns. With the Eagles sitting 8-1, Hurts is firmly in the MVP conversation.
