Jalen Hurts avoids Washington defenders and falling barriers at FedEx Field

With their 20-16 victory over the Washington Football Team at FedEx Field, the Philadelphia Eagles inched closer to securing a playoff berth. With the victory, the Eagles improved to 9-7 and can lock up a postseason spot if the Minnesota Vikings (without Kirk Cousins) and New Orleans Saints lose later this weekend.

In the victory, quarterback Jalen Hurts was kept relatively clean, and played a relatively clean game. He completed 17 of 26 passes for 214 yards, without a touchdown or interception, and was sacked just once. He also had seven carries for 44 yards.

But his best move of the afternoon might have come when he was exiting the field:

A barrier in the stands gave way just as Hurts was entering the tunnel, causing a group of Eagles fans to crash down around the quarterback. Hurts took it all in stride, posing for photos with the fans and interacting with them before finally leaving the field.

This still might not have been Hurts’ slickest move of the day. On Boston Scott’s third-quarter touchdown run, the quarterback made the pitch while stumbling out from under center:

Whatever works. And with a little help, it might all add up to a playoff berth for Philadelphia.
