Jake Knapp named starter in Game 1 for UNC baseball
The North Carolina Tar Heels will turn to Jake Knapp on Friday afternoon as they open up the Terre Haute Regional against Iowa.
Knapp will get the start in game one for North Carolina, manager Scott Forbes confirmed on Tuesday, just over a week after he had a dominating performance against Virginia in the ACC Tournament. Now, Knapp looks to get UNC off to a great start in the regional and into the winner’s bracket.
For Iowa, they will turn to Marcus Morgan to face off against Knapp on Friday.
Morgan has been really good for the Hawkeyes this season, becoming their ace after a 4-2 record with a 3.88 ERA in 16 games. He pitches 60.1 innings and allowed 36 hits on the year.

The winner of Friday’s game will match up against the winner of Indiana State and Wright State. The loser will face the loser of that game with elimination on the line.
