Jaguars RB James Robinson suffers torn Achilles vs. Jets

Jacksonville Jaguars running back James Robinson suffered a torn Achilles in the first half of Sunday's 26-21 loss to the New York Jets.

Robinson went to take a handoff from rookie quarterback Trevor Lawrence but fell to the ground before receiving the ball without contact. Interim coach Darrell Bevell confirmed the extent of the injury after the game.

As the cart took Robinson to the locker room from the injury tent, a towel covered his head. He was replaced by Dare Ogunbowale.

Robinson had a difficult season during the Urban Meyer saga in Jacksonville. Benched for fumbling issues, he still managed 757 rushing yards (4.7 yards per carry) with eight touchdowns.

As an undrafted rookie in 2020, Robinson rushed for 1,070 yards in 14 contests.
