Jaden Springer discusses back-and-forth between Sixers, G League
PHILADELPHIA–The Philadelphia 76ers led the Detroit Pistons by as many as 41 on Tuesday on their way to an easy 147-116 win. They swept the home-and-home series as well as the season series with the Pistons and they were able to see some younger players get some playing time.
Jaden Springer, the No. 28 pick in the 2021 NBA draft, was able to play 8:43 in the win and he had 10 points, two rebounds, a big putback slam, and a steal. He was able to show off a nice ability to move off the ball for points and he was very good on the defensive end.
On Wednesday, the Sixers reassigned Springer back to the Delaware Blue Coats of the G League in order to get more playing time. The Sixers just do not have the time at the moment to give to him in order to help him develop out on the floor.
After the win, Springer discusses going back-and-forth between Philadelphia and Delaware.
“It’s been all over the place,” he said. “It’s been kind of like a roller coaster. I’m just making the best of it and enjoying my time. I learned last year everything’s unpredictable. So just stay ready, be ready to embrace everything, every opportunity. No matter if it’s here in the G league wherever they want me so just make the best.”
Springer will look to continue to grow and develop out on the floor. He won’t do it with the Sixers as there are too many veterans in front of him and Philadelphia has title aspirations. The G League offers him that chance to play and grow his game.
