The bad news is that Jacob deGrom and the Mets were rained out on Thursday against the Philadelphia Phillies at Citi Field. The good news is that it could benefit them this weekend against the Rockies in Colorado. Depending on the weather, of course.

Before Thursday's rainout, the Mets planned to start Joey Lucchesi on Friday night against the Rockies in Colorado and start Marcus Stroman on Sunday.

Their starting pitcher for Saturday's game was TBA, with Luis Rojas saying that two options could be starting Robert Gsellman or having a bullpen game.

Rojas also said there are some depth options in the organization who could be considered. One of those depth options was likely Jordan Yamamoto.

But the above plan has been changed due to Thursday's rainout.

THE UPDATED ROTATION PLAN

DeGrom will now pitch on Friday night, followed by Lucchesi on Saturday night (he will simply be pushed back a day).

Stroman will pitch on Sunday afternoon as originally scheduled.

It will be frigid in Colorado on Friday and Saturday, with snow expected Thursday into early Friday, but Rojas said the Mets expect to be able to play on Friday.

The low on Friday is expected to be 27 degrees, with the low on Saturday expected to be 22 degrees.

It should be mostly sunny on Sunday, with the high predicted to be a balmy 51 degrees.
