Who is starting for the Mets?

RHP Jacob deGrom (2020: 2.38 ERA, 0.96 WHIP) will once again start Opening Day for the Mets. After not securing his third Cy Young Award in a row last season, he'll look to start on the right foot in this one. During Opening Day last season against Atlanta, deGrom went five innings, allowing just one hit and no runs while striking out eight.

Who is starting for the Phillies?

LHP Matt Moore, who did not pitch in the majors in 2020 after pitching just 10.0 big league innings in 2019. Moore had a 6.79 ERA and 1.65 WHIP in 102.0 innings for the Texas Rangers in 2018 and has a career ERA of 4.51 in nine big league seasons.

Upcoming schedule

The Mets and the Phillies will play again Tuesday at 7:05 p.m. on SNY.
