J.T. Tuimoloau set to announce college decision on Sunday, July 4th

Ohio State football is looking for a huge BOOM on July 4th this year. Not just an Independence Day celebration with fireworks, but because J.T. Tuimoloau has made his college decision and has set to make his announcement tomorrow.

In what has seemed like a recruitment that has been never-ending, Tuimoloau has taken his time in picking his destination. And rightfully so. After the NCAA had kept extending the dead period due to COVID-19, Tuimoloau and his family stuck to their guns that they wanted to visit the different campuses on his final list.

The No. 3 overall player and No. 2 defensive end in the 2021 class according to 247Sports composite rankings took his official visit to Ohio State earlier in June. Many believed it was down to Alabama and the Buckeyes, but Tuimoloau canceled his trip to Tuscaloosa last minute.

The decision will come down between Ohio State, USC, Oregon, and Washington. Most believe it is a two-horse race between the Buckeyes and the Ducks, but as quiet as he and his family have been, anything can happen.

The announcement will happen live on CBSSportsHQ at 4 p.m. EDT.

Ohio State hopes the fireworks will be lit in their favor in what would be a BOOM for the ages. Should he pick the Buckeyes, Tuimoloau would become the highest-rated defensive player ever to commit to OSU. He would pass current freshman Jack Sawyer. What a pair these two would be for the next three to four years!

We’ll be waiting and watching with the rest of Buckeye Nation tomorrow at 4 p.m.
