J.J. Watt and Matt Hamilton is your newest Olympic bromance

The Hamilton siblings might have been knocked out a little earlier than expected in Olympic mixed doubles curling, but the important part is the friends they made along the way. For the Wisconsin natives, it probably doesn’t get much better than becoming Twitter friends with J.J. Watt.

The All-Pro Texans defensive end tweeted out his support for USA curling on Sunday evening and soon, Matt Hamilton was there to see if he had a new fan. They already have some common ground in their Wisconsin roots, given that Watt played football for the Badgers in college and the Hamiltons hail from McFarland, Wisconsin — just a 20-minute drive from the school.

Watt indeed confirmed he is on the “HamFam” train, which earned him an invite to give curling a try the next time he’s in the Hamiltons’ neck of the woods. Watt has not yet publicly responded to the invite.

Watt might have football in his DNA, but he’s still a fan of winter sports after spending the first two decades of his life in Wisconsin. He has said in the past that hockey was his first love, but had to give it up since his family couldn’t afford it.

Watt isn’t alone in the NFL in his enjoyment of curling. Washington tight end Vernon Davis is also known to be into the majestic sport, which gave the U.S. men’s curling team an idea for their next fundraiser.
