J.C. Jackson in, Trent Brown out for Patriots’ Week 4 matchup vs. Buccaneers

The New England Patriots will be without tackle Trent Brown for a third straight game for the team’s matchup against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday at Gillette Stadium as they prepare for Tom Brady. Brown is one of two starters who won’t play due to injury. Linebacker Ja’Whaun Bentley was inactive due to a shoulder injury.

New England’s other inactives were defensive end Ronnie Perkins, cornerbacks Joejuan Williams and Shaun Wade, running back Rhamondre Stevenson and tight end Devin Asiasi.

The Patriots did get some good news. J.C. Jackson will suit up for the game despite appearing on the injury report as limited with a knee injury on Friday. He was questionable along with tackle Isaiah Wynn (knee), kicker Nick Folk (left knee), linebackers Josh Uche (back) and Kyle Van Noy (knee) and safety Kyle Dugger (hamstring). They were all active.

The team initially ruled out running back James White on Friday before placing him on injured reserve later in the weekend. His season is likely over.

The Buccaneers will be without tight end Rob Gronkowski and cornerback Jamel Dean. Antonio Brown will make his return from COVID-19. Cornerback Carlton Davis, who was questionable, will play. Cornerback Richard Sherman, who signed with the team this week, will also suit up for the game.

Kickoff is at 8:20 p.m.
