Ivanka Trump's company recently released a list of gift ideas for Father's Day ahead of the June 18 holiday. Twitter responded by offering alternative gifts for the first daughter to give President Trump, referencing the various investigations into possible collusion between Trump's campaign and the Russian government during the 2016 election.

The relationship between the president and his family remains a hot topic amid controversy surrounding his administration. Special Counsel Robert Mueller has been investigating allegations into collusion and obstruction of justice. Meanwhile, Ivanka Trump's husband, Jared Kushner, is a senior adviser and is also reportedly been the subject of the investigation.

Many of the Father's Day suggestions were laced with sarcasm.

Ivanka Trump's gift ideas were posted on June 4 on her company's website. They included "something chilled" — with a picture of a glass of alcohol — "a grooming gift set" and "golf essentials." The picture of alcohol is noteworthy since President Trump doesn't drink.

At the top of the page read the headline: "Celebrate your main man with a thoughtful gift that says, among other things, 'Thank you for putting up with my teen years.'"

Ivanka Trump HQ — the Twitter handle for her company — posted a link to the website on Twitter earlier this month with the note "Whether a football lover or a coffee aficionado, these picks will please every dad."

However, Twitter users didn't respond to the gift ideas given by the website, instead responded with humor about President Trump's ongoing investigations.

"What's a good gift for a dad who's heading to prison soon? Asking for a friend...," replied one Twitter user "fine" on June 6 adding the hashtag "#ComeyWeek" — a reference to former FBI Director James Comey's testimony to a congressional hearing that took place on June 8.

Other users on the social media platform used the tweet to tell Ivanka of the president about the new Republican health care bill and to tell her to get her father to stop tweeting.

Comedian Chelsea Handler had sarcastic and explicit suggestions for what Ivanka Trump should get for her President Trump on Fathers Day on her Netflix show. She offered a procedure that required two steps to help " fix [her] dementia-ridden, fat father problems.”

First, "put him in in a nursing home." Second, "walk away," Handler suggested.
