Teri Moren promised difficult non-conference schedules, and once again she delivered.

The Hoosiers released their 2017-18 schedule Thursday, and it features seven teams that made the tournament postseason a year ago.

Five of those teams (Auburn, Chattanooga, Louisville, Missouri and Western Kentucky) made the NCAA Tournament in 2016-17. Two more (Saint Mary's and Virginia) competed along with Indiana in the WNIT.

"I'm really excited about the schedule we've put together," Moren said in a team release. "It features a lot of high-level opponents which will be great tests for our program. I'm looking forward to the games we will play in front of our home crowd and the schedule as a whole will no doubt prepare us for Big Ten play."

IU begins the season with four consecutive home games. The first is scheduled for Nov. 11 against Arkansas State and then follow that up with Southern University (Nov. 14), Western Kentucky (Nov. 17) and Chattanooga (Nov. 20). The latter two opponents both played the Hoosiers a season ago.

Next comes the first of two tournaments in Moraga, Georgia, where IU will play UAB (Nov. 24) and then Saint Mary's (Nov. 25) as part of the Saint Mary's Classic.

The Big Ten/ACC Challenge, which was previously announced, comes next with Louisville coming to Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall Nov. 30. Then come a pair of home games against Auburn (Dec. 3) and North Texas (Dec. 5) before closing things out away from home against Northern Kentucky (Dec. 9), Virginia (Dec. 17) and Missouri (Dec. 18) in the West Palm Invitational and Yale (Dec. 21).

The two tournaments make for two chances for the Hoosiers to experience back-to-back games that should go a long way in helping them prepare for the rigors of the Big Ten Tournament. Indiana has bowed out in its opening game each of the past two seasons in the annual conference showcase.

The Big Ten regular-season schedule is yet to be announced. Those details should be out in the coming weeks.

IU also intends to host one exhibition contest that has yet to be announced. The Hoosiers are in the midst of preparing for a trip to Italy that runs from Aug. 2-11.
