The date for IU's home Big Ten-ACC challenge contest vs. Duke has been set.
The Big Ten conference on Monday morning announced the Hoosiers will face the Blue Devils on Wednesday, November 29 this upcoming season. Tipoff time and TV designations will be announced at a later date, according to the press release.
Indiana last faced Duke in the 2015 Big Ten-ACC Challenge at Carmeron Indoor Stadium in Durham, North Carolina, a 94-74 loss for the Hoosiers.
Last season, the Blue Devils finished 28-9 overall and lost to South Carolina in the second round of the NCAA tournament.
Despite losing four underclassmen - freshman forward Harry Giles, freshman forward Jayson Tatum, sophomore guard Luke Kennard, freshman guard Frank Jackson - to the NBA and senior forward Amile Jefferson to graduation, Duke is still a preseason top five team according to ESPN, coming in at No. 5 on the outlet's "Way Too Early" Top 25 as of May 25.
That's largely due to the talent the Blue Devils are bringing in to replace those five.
Rivals ranks their 2017 signing class rank No. 2 nationally as of May 24. It includes the nation's top 2017 point guard and No. 4 overall player in five-star Trevon Duval, No. 5 overall player in five-star center Wendell Carter, No. 17 overall player in five-star shooting guard Gary Trent, No. 54 overall player in four-star shooting guard Alex O'Connell, No. 68 overall player in four-star small forward Jordan Tucker and unranked three-star point guard guard Jordan Goldwire.
Other reported IU non-conference opponents so far include a road contest at Seton Hall as part of the 2017 Gavitt Tipoff Games on Nov. 15, hosting South Florida, a road contest at Louisville in early December and a neutral site game vs. Notre Dame in mid-December as part of the annual Crossroads Classic at Bankers' Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis.
