Itasca Waters' Water Wisdom to present on zebra mussels March 7

Mar. 1—GRAND RAPIDS — Itasca Waters will continue its online Practical Water Wisdom Series at noon on Thursday, March 7.

The series runs for an hour beginning at noon, typically on the first Thursday of each month. The webinars are free, open to all and include an interactive Q&A session.

Four lakeshore owners from Minnesota and Iowa will present "Living with Zebra Mussels in Your Lake — A Cautionary Tale." The panelists will share their experiences with zebra mussels, allowing participants to gain insight into living on an infested lake and the different ways zebra mussels impact lakes, a release said.

"We plan to discuss a variety of questions such as: do you need a boat lift, can zebra mussels damage boat motors, have property values been impacted, how do you keep children and pets safe and what advice would you give lakeshore owners on newly infested lakes?" the release added.

The Practical Water Wisdom series is the brainchild of Itasca Waters, a nonprofit organization located in Itasca County whose mission is to team up with other organizations and concerned citizens to maintain abundant, clean water for continued health, enjoyment and a strong economy.
