Incoming Iowa State freshman wing Terrence Lewis is putting up the kind of YMCA Capital City League numbers that you’d expect from one of the most talented players involved in the summer season.

The 6-foot-5, 195-pound Lewis is playing on the Doerrfeld Promotions team along with ISU teammate Solomon Young. He said the Cap City League is providing him with an opportunity to work on his shot and continue the process of ramping up to his Cyclone debut outing.

“It’s about getting to my next level for that first game on November 10 (at Missouri),” Lewis said. “I have to keep shooting, being aggressive, get to the boards, playing defense. Playing here is a chance for me to keep working on my shot and I also can get my dribble skills better.”

The heady freshman-to-be has a good understanding of what the summer months provide in his development, both in the metro area rec league and in his workouts with his Iowa State teammates in Ames.

But Lewis admitted that he was playing catch up in the initial handful of summer workout sessions at ISU.
