The Islanders' game against the Buffalo Sabres on Tuesday was canceled, and not because a player or coach tested positive for COVID-19. Rather, the testing protocol couldn't be completed in the proper amount of time.

The snow in the tri-state area forced the Sabres to fly to New York on Tuesday, which in turn led to contact tracing and testing protocols getting delayed.

Because of that, the game will be played at a later date. Both teams are still scheduled to play on Thursday at Nassau Coliseum.

The Isles are 0-3-2 in their last five games.
