Have you ever met anyone that actually enjoys vacuuming? It’s everyone’s least favorite chore for a reason — you have to lug around a heavy vac from room to room, hunch over as you try and get every dust bunny and clump of pet hair, only to realize you forgot to get the crumbs from under the table.
While robot vacuums are certainly nothing new, they’re not all created equal. Roomba is the king of smart vacs, and the brand’s current reigning champ? The iRobot Roomba i6+, and it’s $200 off today only at Amazon, bringing the sticker price down to just $600. You have to hurry though — the sale ends tonight.
Sure, $600 is still pricey, but it practically pays for itself in the hassle it eliminates. For starters, it has a Smart Mapping tool, which allows the device to learn the layout of your home, including where each room is, and what to avoid, like pet bowls, the trash can, and stairs. In fact, one shopper named her vac Jarvis, for how intelligent he proves to be:
“We’re on day three and he’s mapped the entire downstairs and done four cleaning runs flawlessly,” the shopper writes. “I have my keep out and cleaning zones set and he follows the plan like a champ. He has excellent vision and when he detects a spot he missed his blue ring lights up, he backs up and goes back over what he missed. When he’s satisfied he got the dirt he missed he moves on to clean the rest of the room. I have never seen anything like my Jarvis. I am truly impressed with his intelligence! Maybe I should have named him Ironman instead because he has such a high IQ, he’s so strong, and flies across the room with such precision.”
The best part, however, is that the gizmo is virtually mess-free — it’s made to clean up after itself, so you don’t have to think of emptying it for weeks. The vac comes with an automatic dirt disposal, where it’ll deposit all the gunk it picks up after each cleaning session. The disposal traps 99 percent of pollen and mold, and only requires emptying every 60 days.
As for the clean itself? The Roomba uses a three-stage cleaning system and ten times the power lifting suction, so all that trapped dirt in your carpet and floorboards doesn’t stand a chance.
Pet parents specifically love the Roomba i6+, if only for the fact that they don’t have to constantly have to pick up after their shedding pooches. One declared it a “must-have for owners with shedding pets,” writing:
“I was skeptical going in, but I really love the Roomba I6+. I have a golden retriever that sheds more than I thought possible, so his hair was always everywhere. Not anymore. You wouldn't even know I have a dog now.”
It’s practically a member of the family to some, like this shopper:
“Vacuuming doesn’t get any easier than this,” she writes. “With a German Shepherd Dog that never stops shedding, three cats and a 19 month old I have a hard time keeping up. I honestly felt like I was always sweeping or vacuuming but never getting ahead. The Roomba i6+ finally makes that possible. The features on this model blow me away. Once it’s connected to the app you can control pretty much everything from when it cleans to how often it cleans different areas. It’s a smart little robot that learns your home and remembers everything. It cleans every accessible inch of the floor and can even tell the difference between carpet and hard flooring. I’m really impressed with it and love how clean it keeps my home.”
