Iowa Hawkeyes offensive two-deep entering spring football

Spring football is here! The Iowa Hawkeyes have seen their fair share of offensive turnover.

Namely, tight end Sam LaPorta heading to the 2023 NFL draft. That means Iowa is replacing its top pass-catcher and receiving yardage leader from each of the last two seasons. Over the last two years, LaPorta racked up 1,327 receiving yards on 111 catches with four touchdowns.

Wide receivers Keagan Johnson and Arland Bruce IV each entered the transfer portal and resurfaced at Kansas State and Oklahoma State, respectively. Other transfers included running back Gavin Williams to Northern Illinois, offensive lineman Josh Volk to Northern Iowa and quarterbacks Carson May and Alex Padilla to Coffeyville Community College and SMU.

Of course, the Hawkeyes bolstered their offense with the additions of offensive linemen Daijon Parker from Saginaw Valley State and Rusty Feth from Miami (Ohio). Iowa also brought in Michigan transfers Cade McNamara at quarterback and Erick All at tight end.

With spring football officially underway beginning today in Iowa City, the Hawkeyes released an initial two-deep offensive depth chart. Here’s a look at it below.
