The internet went crazy when No. 16 UMBC upset No. 1 Virginia
There is no question that when the University of Maryland-Baltimore County Retrievers upset No. 1 Virginia, the sports world went nuts.
It took 136 tries for a No. 16-seeded team to shock a No. 1 team. So when it finally happened on Friday, everyone on Twitter became a Retrievers fan.

Sometimes, you have to shoot your shot. Just because it No. 16 seeds 136 times to beat a No. 1 seed doesn’t mean that will happen to you. You never know.
To every single guy going out tonight: See that really hot chick that's outta your league over there? Go hit on her. If #UMBC can do, then dammit so can you!

UMBC’s Cinderella season will continue when the Retrievers face No. 9 Kansas State on Sunday.
