Innovators Charter School pulls back amid controversy

The group behind the new charter school proposed for either New Bedford or Fall River withdrew their application for state approval and will not open as planned. In a letter to Massachusetts Commissioner of Elementary and Secondary Education Jeffrey Riley, Meg Mayo Brown, the proposed head of the proposed Innovators Charter School, said on behalf of the school's founding group that they would not continue with the application process for a new charter.
