Injury Report: Bucks’ Giannis Antetokounmpo (left knee soreness) out vs. Warriors on Tuesday

After three games on the road, the Golden State Warriors are returning to Chase Center to meet the Milwaukee Bucks in San Francisco. Golden State’s tilt with Milwaukee will be missing one of the contest’s featured All-Stars.

Prior to Tuesday night’s tilt, Milwaukee’s Mike Budenholzer announced reigning Most Valuable Player Giannis Antetokounmpo would be sidelined against Golden State with left knee soreness.

Antetokounmpo is averaging 28.8 points on 56.5% shooting from the floor with 11.4 rebounds, 6.2 assists and 1.3 blocks per game. In Milwaukee’s blowout victory over Golden State in the second contest of the 2020-21 campaign, Antetokounmpo recorded a double-double with 15 points and 13 rebounds.

Without the five-time All-Star, the Bucks will start Bobby Portis against the Warriors. Portis is averaging 11.1 points on 54.0% shooting from the floor with 6.8 boards in 20.9 minutes off the bench.

Although the Bucks will be without Antetokounmpo, Steve Kerr and the Warriors will need to find a way to slow down Jrue Holiday and Khris Middleton.

The Warriors are slated for the first of a four-game homestand on Tuesday against the Bucks at 7 p.m. PT.
