Indiana wide receiver Simmie Cobbs had an awesome first half against Ohio State.

The upset-minded Hoosiers stormed out to a lead over the second-ranked Buckeyes using an impressive passing attack. Cobbs, a junior who missed the 2016 season with an injury, made his presence felt with seven catches for 98 yards and a touchdown in the first two quarters. Two of those catches were one-handed on well-placed back-shoulder throws from quarterback Richard Lagow.

His first came for a 28-yard gain and led to IU’s first touchdown — an 18-yard connection between Lagow and Ian Thomas.

Cobbs’ second highlight reel grab came in the second quarter was similar, but needed a nice spin in order to complete the process of the catch.

A few plays later, Cobbs found the end zone for the first time of the season on a third-and-goal toss from the eight-yard line.

That score gave Indiana a 14-6 lead, but it wouldn’t last long.

The Hoosiers led 14-13 at halftime, but the Buckeyes stormed back in the second half and ended up winning 49-21. Cobbs finished with a game-high 11 catches for 149 yards.
