Indiana High school boys soccer: Tourney draw is set. See who your team is playing

The Marian boys soccer team will not have to wait long to begin its postseason run.

The No. 4 ranked Knights will start tournament play in a familiar spot, as in at home in Abro Stadium and as the team to beat in the sectional field.

Pairings for the state tournament series, which begins with sectional play Oct. 3, were drawn by the IHSAA Sunday night.

Marian headlines the field at its own Class 2A sectional. The Knights, who are 11-1-2, face South Bend Clay in the opener.

Bremen, which beat both Marian and Saint Joseph to earn the sectional title in 2021, faces Saint Joseph in a semifinal match at Marian. No. 8 Bremen is 10-3-1 and No. 11 Saint Joseph sits at 6-7-2.

Marian, whose only loss is to Warsaw, plays at Saint Joseph Wednesday night.

Adams and Elkhart will serve as hosts for Class 3A area sectionals. No. 17 Penn, which is 7-4-4, is the defending champion at Adams. The Kingsmen play Chesterton in a first-round clash.

The Elkhart field is very strong with No. 13 Goshen and No. 16 Elkhart in the mix. Elkhart, the defending champion, drew the bye in the seven-team field. Goshen faces Mishawaka in a first-round contest.

Sectionals are October 3, 5, 7 and 8. Regional semifinals are October 12 with regional finals October 15. Semistates are October 22 with State Finals October 28-29.
