Indiana's athletic department finished in the black for the 2015-16' calendar year.
According to USA TODAY's updated database, the Hoosiers generated $95,216,762 in revenue for the year and totaled $94,190,256 in expenses, for a differential of $1,026,506.
IU's revenue ranked 10th out of 13 Big Ten teams that were included in the report (Northwestern's numbers were unavailable,) which checked in at 32nd nationally. In-state rival Purdue finished 13th in the conference with $78,699,976 in revenue, ranking 47th nationally.
Traditional football schools dominated the top of the list. Ohio State ($170,789,765 - 3rd nationally) and Michigan ($163,850,616 - 5th) represented the league in the top ten nationally, while Wisconsin ($132,788,726 - 11th nationally) and Penn State ($132,248,076 - 12th) checked in just outside that top group.
