IHSAA football Week 4 top performers: A monster Mudsock, Indy-area QBs light it up

Nominees for Week 4:
Tanner Aspeslet, Lawrence North: The junior quarterback was 11-for-16 passing for 320 yards and five touchdowns — three to Davion Chandler — as the Wildcats rolled to a 49-14 win over North Central.
Jalen Alexander, Hamilton Southeastern: The senior Ball State commit scored on a 96-yard touchdown run and 72-yard touchdown run before his game-winning 6-yard TD run in overtime in the Royals’ 35-34 overtime win over Fishers. Alexander finished with 200 rushing yards on 17 carries and three TDs.
Santana Allen, Cardinal Ritter: The sophomore led Cardinal Ritter to a 20-14 comeback win over rival Speedway as he was 15-for-26 passing for 241 yards and ran for 27 yards and two TDs.
Week 4 scores: Mudsock OT thriller, Ben Davis falls to IMG, lights go out
Braylen Benavente, Greenfield-Central: The sophomore running back was a workhorse in a 43-38 win over Pendleton Heights as he ran for 151 yards on 33 carries.
Ben Brandenburg, Roncalli: Brandenburg, a senior, ran for 129 yards and two touchdowns on 19 carries to lead Roncalli to a 38-10 win over Columbus North. He also caught three passes and had five tackles on defense.
Hogan Denny, Mooresville: Denny was 16-for-27 passing for 261 yards and five touchdowns and rushed for 120 yards and one TD on 15 carries in a 59-22 win over Greenwood.
Alex Gibbs, Guerin Catholic: The senior had a huge game in Guerin Catholic’s 34-29 win over Brebeuf Jesuit, rushing for 116 yards and three TDs on 16 carries and catching three passes and 77 yards.
Colin Guy, Bishop Chatard: Guy caught a 34-yard touchdown pass from Aiden Arteaga with 1:56 left Saturday morning to give Bishop Chatard a 24-21 victory over Cathedral as the Trojans rallied from a 21-0 deficit.
Eugene Hilton, Zionsville: Hilton caught a 22-yard touchdown pass in the fourth quarter from Luke Murphy to put Zionsville ahead in an eventual 24-10 win over Franklin Central. Hilton finished with seven receptions for 123 yards and two TDs.
Keith Jackson, Warren Central: The junior quarterback sparked the Warriors to a 25-16 win over Lawrence Central with first half touchdown runs of 35 yards and 8 yards and tacked on a 27-yard touchdown pass in the fourth quarter.
Khobie Martin, Fishers: The senior Miami of Ohio commit ran 37 times for 285 yards and three TDs in the Tigers' 35-34 overtime loss to Hamilton Southeastern.
DJ Mendez, Scecina: The senior quarterback lit it up on 20-for-30 passing for 310 yards and four touchdowns and also ran for 71 yards and a TD as Class 2A top-ranked Scecina knocked off Beech Grove 44-24.
Cayden Olinger, Brownsburg: The senior receiver had nine receptions for 135 yards to continue his big season in a 53-30 win over Avon.
Brayden Shrake, Martinsville: The senior running back went for 191 rushing yards and two touchdowns on 43 carries as Martinsville rallied for a 25-24 victory over Decatur Central.
Malachi Walden, Tri-West: The Tri-West quarterback used his legs to help the Bruins to a 26-21 win over Western Boone. Walden had 179 yards rushing and two rushing TDs on 26 carries and passed for 96 yards and a score.
