McIlroy may have given Tiger COVID, Canelo sends warning to Messi I The Rush

Rory IcIlroy revealed that he may have given his friend, Tiger Woods, COVID right before the Open Championship. Eagles receiver AJ Brown revealed that he lost seven pounds and burst a blood vessel in his eye due to a stomach bug over Thanksgiving and boxer Canelo Alvarez tweeted that he takes exception to Lionel Messi “kicking” a Mexico jersey.

Video Transcript

RORY MCILROY: Like it or not, they can't really sell Tiger Woods anymore. They had an easy job for 20 years. They don't have Tiger. Yes, they've got a bunch of us and we're all great players, but we're not Tiger Woods.

JARED QUAY: Rory McIlroy loves Tiger Woods. And sometimes you unintentionally hurt your homies, which Rory thinks may have been the case at the British Open earlier this year. Rory said that while he didn't test positive for COVID during his time at the British Open, he did lose his sense of taste and smell, which are key symptoms of the virus.

- True story.

JARED QUAY: Rory and Tiger were hanging out at a two day event in Ireland just before the tournament, in which Tiger was riding the struggle bus in the second round and failed to make the cut.

- Whoops.

JARED QUAY: Tiger doesn't have a whole lot of chances left to win majors. So if COVID was really the culprit behind his poor performance at the Open Championship, Rory better buy him one fancy ass dinner or get a tattoo as retribution.

- Dude, what does mine say?

JARED QUAY: Speaking of illness, it sounds like Eagles receiver AJ Brown had a Thanksgiving from hell.

- What do you mean?

JARED QUAY: Brown told reporters he was sick with a stomach bug over the holiday. It was so bad he lost seven pounds in a single day and vomited so hard he popped a blood vessel in his eye. And if you think he's exaggerating, this is what he looked like after the game. My man, you got to take a sick day where your eye resembles the Lord of the Rings villain. You look scary, man.

We're moments away from seeing if the US advances to the knockout stage of the World Cup. But boxing superstar Canelo Alvarez seemingly wants to knock out soccer superstar Lionel Messi.

- Let's get ready to rumble.

JARED QUAY: After Argentina's 2-0 win over Mexico, Messi rather innocently seemed to kick a Mexico jersey in the locker room. The Mexican boxer has taken it personally and tweeted out, quote, "Did you see Messi cleaning the floor with our shirt and flag?" End quote. He then tweeted, "He better pray to God that I don't find him." Woo hoo. I'm not going to lie. I think Alvarez is overreacting. Messi looks like he was stretching his legs. And I ain't going to tell that to Alvarez's face, though, because he knocks people out for a living.
