Ian Book cut by New Orleans Saints

·1 min read

Former Notre Dame quarterback Ian Book has been waived by the New Orleans Saints as the team makes its way down to the 53-man roster limit.  It was a bit of a surprise Book went as early as he did (fourth round) in the 2021 NFL draft, but also a bit of surprise he was waived on Tuesday afternoon.

Book completed 42 of 65 passes this preseason for 315 yards and two touchdowns and two interceptions. He added 121 rushing yards in the three preseason games.

According to Ian Rapoport, Book will likely be a practice squad target if he clears waivers.
