HYANNIS — Ocean State Job Lot announced the completed expansion of its store at 390 Barnstable Road on April 14.

The store expanded its original footprint from 17,000 square feet to nearly 34,000 square feet, according to a company press release. The expansion came from the empty retail space next to to Ocean State Job Lot, which was previously occupied by Rite Aid.

"We are proud to unveil the completed expansion of our Hyannis store,” said Paul Cox, director of Store Operations. “We are happy to bring an improved, upgraded shopping experience to the Mid-Cape community ahead of the busy summer season.”

Ocean State Job Lot is hiring for additional positions to support the expansion, according to the press release.

Ocean State Job Lot is a privately held discount retail chain and has 147 stores in New England, New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania, employing about 5,600 people with annual sales exceeding $800 million. The Hyannis store opened its doors on Oct. 30, 1987.
