Fir Park has always been a difficult venue for Killie and so it proved again at the weekend as we grabbed a hard fought point with a below-par performance.

Almost 1500 Killie fans, a fantastic turn-out, saw Lewis Mayo score his first Killie goal and it was a belter. The former Rangers defender is having a great season and his name will be on the shortlist when the Player of the Year awards are being dished out.

It was good to see Greg Stewart and Kevin Van Veen get a few minutes and the sooner they are both in the starting line-up the better.

Both players were brought in during a fantastic transfer window and huge credit needs to go to the board and management for getting such quality players to sign up at the Theatre of Pies.

It could be a big week for Killie as we have home games with Livingston on Wednesday before we welcome Cove Rangers in the cup. A couple of wins would be another huge boost to the Killie fans who are already dreaming of a season to remember.
