The Houston Texans weren’t playing for draft positioning as they intercepted quarterback Ryan Tannehill four times and prevailed 22-13 over the Tennessee Titans Sunday afternoon at rain-soaked Nissan Stadium.

Texans quarterback Tyrod Taylor, who threw three interceptions two weeks ago against the Miami Dolphins, rebounded with no giveaways and two rushing touchdowns.

Here is everything we know about the win that snaps Houston’s eight-game losing streak.

The Texans won the takeaway battle 5-0, and the battle was won throughout the course of the game, not a collection of Ryan Tannehill interceptions chucked in garbage time. The Texans were leading the turnover ratio 2-0 going into the fourth quarter, and they actually capitalized on a muffed punt at the 5-yard line with Taylor scoring his second rushing touchdown.

The Texans were also 2-4 in the red zone, which gave them the necessary points to stay out ahead of the Titans.

Houston also protected their quarterback, who didn’t sustain a single sack. Meanwhile the Texans’ pass rush got to Tannehill twice, even with their leading sacker, defensive end Jonathan Greenard, out with a foot injury.

It was over when...

Cornerback Desmond King intercepted Tannehill with 3:53 to go on a third-and-13 from the Tennessee 26-yard line. The Titans were driving for the go-ahead score and the takeaway gave Houston a chance to add a field goal and make it a two-score game. After that, it was over but the screaming and shouting.

The Texans improve to 2-8 and go home to play the equally 2-8 New York Jets at NRG Stadium.

The Titans fall to 8-3, but are still a credible threat to win the division and chase for the No. 1 seed in the AFC. Tennessee goes on the road to Gillette Stadium to play the New England Patriots.
