Texas A&M recruits gave their time & strength during the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey providing hope to those impacted.
Hurricane Harvey's devastation reached deep into the heart of Texas leaving many with nothing and hopeless. In a time of tragedy and despair it has been the selfless service of many that has united the city, state and beyond that the nation.
In one particular area of town, Cinco Ranch, residents were not able to get into their neighborhood until Tuesday of last week (over a week after Harvey hit). Every home I saw was flooded and needed to be gutted. The loss of their belongings stung deep, but the help provided from family, friends & the Katy High School Football team brought life, hope and grateful hearts.
Katy kicker and Texas A&M commit Seth Small led a group over to Daryl Blanton's home after their practice.
Daryl Blanton is a friend and mentor to the Katy football team. His love and passion for football combined with his faith, strength and resiliency is contagious. Blanton has shared his struggles, source of strength and triumph with the team on several occasions. Mr. Blanton's story has given the team motivation on the field, and last week it carried over into the community as members of the team helped the Blanton's, friends, family and even strangers recover from the Harvey floods.
