Hollis named Mid-South Conference Women's Bowling Coach of the Year

Feb. 24—Cumberland bowling coach Christina Hollis was voted the Mid-South Conference Women's Bowling Coach of the Year, announced Thursday morning by the league.

Hollis earns the honor for the first time in her career after leading the program to new heights this season. The Phoenix earned the first victory in program history winning the Spring Hill Classic back in November. The team has finished top 3 in three events taking, third place at the Keystone Quaker Classic and the NAIA Southeast Open.

Currently the Phoenix sit in 12th in the Women's Bowling RPI with one more rating to be released in a couple of weeks. The team is ranked 23rd in the USBC ranking system.

The team has four bowlers with at least a 180 per game average led by Gracie Connelly with 190.4. Alyssa Campbell is averaging 185.1 followed by Kathleen Schraer at 184.3. Carlie Semrau is averaging 182.4 across 20 games this season.

The Phoenix are in Bowling Green, Ky., competing for a Mid-South Conference tournament championship.
