Hockey East: UNH men' picked 10th, women eighth

Sep. 12—The University of New Hampshire men's hockey team was picked 10th in the Hockey East preseason coaches' poll, while the Wildcat women were selected eighth.

Boston University was picked first in the men's poll, with nine of 11 first-place votes. Boston College was picked second, with two-first place votes, followed by Merrimack, Northeastern, UConn, Providence, UMass Lowell, UMass, Maine, UNH and Vermont.

In the women's poll, Northeastern — coached by Merrimack's Dave Flint — tops the poll with eight of nine first-place votes. Vermont was picked second, followed by Providence (one first-place vote), UConn, Boston University, Boston College, Maine, UNH, Merrimack and Holy Cross.
