Hill named SBLive Mississippi Athlete of the Week
Nov. 3—Meridian High School's Daniel Hill was voted SBLive Mississippi High School Athlete of the Week this week for his performance on the ground against Petal on Oct. 20. Hill put up 352 yards and three touchdowns on 22 carries while leading his Meridian Wildcats to a 27-8 victory over their Region 3-7A opponents.
Hill has primarily played quarterback for the Wildcats this season, but he has continued his role as Meridian's do-it-all weapon on offense in his senior season. Hill threw for 307 yards and three touchdowns to two interceptions, rushed for 1,920 yards and 20 touchdowns on 254 carries, and caught 14 passes for 185 yards and three touchdowns through the first ten games of the season.
Earlier this season, Hill was selected to play in the Mississippi/Alabama All-Star Football Game as a tight end on Dec. 16.
