Washington state women's basketball showed grit and determination in the first leg of the Apple Cup on Friday (Jan. 28), battling back to force overtime and eventually defeating arch rival Washington, 60-56 in Pullman. Ula Motuga hit perhaps the biggest shot of her career in the fourth quarter, sinking a game-tying three with 13.9 seconds left to send the game to overtime. Charlisse Leger-Walker scored a game-high 18 points and added seven rebounds in the victory.
