It’s no secret that Texas is looking for a running mate for Xavier Worthy.

If the Longhorns can bring in another wide receiver that poses a true threat in the passing game, Texas’ offense will be tough to stop as it will allow Worthy to have more favorable matchups.

Texas was able to land four-star wide receiver Brenen Thompson in the 2022 recruiting class, but that was their lone addition to the position group this offseason. Steve Sarkisian and his staff will likely look to the transfer portal to bring in at least one experienced pass catcher.

It’s possible that Sarkisian is waiting until after the national championship game to see if any other wide receivers choose to enter the portal. As it sits now, Oklahoma transfer Mario Williams is the highest graded wide receiver in the transfer portal. However, it wouldn’t be surprising to see him land wherever transfer quarterback Caleb Williams decides to go, so Texas is likely not an option for him.

According to 247Sports, here’s a look at the top five receivers in the transfer portal that are still uncommitted.
