High school tennis roundup: Creek picks up two straight 5-0 sweeps

Coahulla Creek 5, Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe 0

Coahulla Creek swept Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe 5-0 Thursday without giving up a point.

In singles, Preston Green, Logan Parton and Ben Giles each won 6-0, 6-0. In doubles, both lines were forfeited by LFO.

The win came after another 5-0 win over Ridgeland on Tuesday in which the Colts also won without giving up a point.

Green, Parton and Giles won in singles. Jackson Thomas and Brayden Barbre won 6-0, 6-0 in the first doubles line. Alex Andrews and Anderson Griggs went 6-0, 6-0 in the second.

Dalton 5, Cass 0

Dalton defeated Cass 5-0 on Thursday.

Will Merryman won 6-1, 6-0 in the first line of singles. Max Cowan won 6-1, 3-6, 6-2, and Jay Zhou won 6-1, 5-7, 6-1.

In doubles, Jack Wells and Cesar Hurtado grabbed a 6-0, 6-1 victory in the first line, and Ben Thorne and William Carlson won 6-0, 6-1 in the second.

The win came after a 4-1 win over Trion on Wednesday.

Sonoraville 5, Northwest Whitfield 0

Northwest Whitfield was downed 5-0 by Sonoraville on Monday.

The first doubles line, Aiden Williams and Andy Nguyen came closest to a Northwest win. A 6-4 loss in the first set was then followed by a 6-1 loss.

Girls

Coahulla Creek 5, Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe 0

Coahulla Creek knocked off Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe 5-0 Thursday.

Camryn Parker won 6-0, 6-2 in singles, EJ Carrier won 6-3, 6-1 and Kylie Lyttle won 6-0, 6-0. In doubles, Lily Lowe and Ava Howell won 6-2, 6-2, and Chelsea Hensley and Cadence Tuck won 6-1, 6-0.

The Lady Colts also swept Ridgeland on Tuesday. Parker, Carrier, Lyttle, Lowe, Howell, Hensley and Tuck all picked up wins against Ridgeland too.

Dalton 4, Cass 1

Dalton defeated Cass 4-1 on Thursday.

Dalton swept the three singles lines, with Caroline Johnson winning 6-0, 6-0, Ava White winning 6-1, 6-0 and Annabelle Rollins won 6-0, 6-0. In the first doubles line, Faith Manis and Jocelyn Pacheco dropped a hard-fought 6-7, 6-2, 2-6 matchup before Leah Cagle and Sydney Pressley won 6-2, 6-2.

Dalton also won 4-1 over Trion on Wednesday.

Sonoraville 5, Northwest Whitfield 0

Northwest Whitfield was defeated 5-0 by Sonoraville Monday.

After three wins by Sonoraville in singles, both doubles lines for Northwest, Holly Jackson and Ivy Turner and Morgan Redmond and Kylee Smith, both lost 6-3, 6-4.
