Here's a roundup of high school varsity action on Tuesday, Jan. 2

Boys basketball

Liberty 72, Francis Scott Key 40: Alex Thompson's 15 points led the Lions to the big win over the Eagles. Brady Bergen was right behind him with 13 points. FSK's Tyler Hansen shared the game-high with 15 points.

Manchester Valley 66, South Carroll 56: Brendan Luddy scored 20 points to lead Manchester Valley. Colton Enderle and Carter Strohman added13 points for the Mavericks, who hit all 14 of their foul shots in the fourth quarter. Micah Puckett of South Carroll led all scorers with 23 points.

Loch Raven 51, Edgewood 38: The host Raiders (6-2) beat the Rams (2-6). Loch Raven hosts Dundalk Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. and Edgewood hosts Harford Tech Friday at 6:45 p.m.

Girls basketball

Aberdeen 58, Kenwood 43: Morgan Hargrove poured in 27 points to lead Aberdeen in the win. Not far behind was teammate Nyjah Harris with 21 points. Harris also totaled seven assists, four steals and four rebounds. Hargrove had four rebounds and three steals. Marissa Heil-Coleman led the defensive effort with five steals to go with four rebounds.

Francis Scott Key 64, Liberty 43: The Eagles broke open the game with an 18-3 second quarter. Summer Brooks led the charge, finishing with a season-high 24 points to go with eight rebounds, four assists, two steals and three blocks. Caroline Kohr backed her with 11 points and seven rebounds. Abby Rieger and Kensi Bancroft each chipped in nine points and four steals with Bancroft pulling down 11 rebounds and Rieger handing out four assists.

Century 47, Winters Mill 21: Harli Hamlet led the way for the Knights with 15 points and five rebounds. Raegan Edwards added 10 points as the Knights improve to 6-3 on the season.

Loch Raven 47, Edgewood 46: The visiting Raiders (5-2) beat the Rams (6-2). Loch Raven travels to Dundalk Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. and Edgewood hosts Rising Sun on Thursday at 6:45 p.m.
