High school soccer roundup: Southeast boys get first win, Lady Raiders stay unbeaten as Southeast sweeps Eastside

Feb. 16—Boys Southeast Whitfield 3, Eastside 1

Southeast Whitfield (1-4) got into the win column for the first time this season, knocking off previously-unbeaten Eastside (4-1) 3-1 Friday night.

Jairo Garcia scored a pair of goals for the Raiders, and Ismael Pimentel scored another.

Pimentel, a senior, returned to action this season after a season-ending injury two seasons ago caused him to then miss all of last season.

The Raiders will be at Coahulla Creek on Thursday at 7 p.m.

Cass 4, Dalton Academy 1

Dalton Academy (1-1) was downed 4-1 by Cass (4-0-1) Friday night.

Dalton Academy plays at Murray County on Monday at 5 p.m.

Murray County 1, Adairsville 1

Murray County (0-3-1) played to a 1-1 draw with Adairsville (1-2-1) on Friday.

The Indians host Dalton Academy Monday at 5 p.m.

Pace Academy 3, Dalton 1

Dalton (3-1) suffered its first loss of the year when the Catamounts fell 3-1 to Pace Academy (1-3) Friday night.

David Saldana scored the Dalton goal in the first half, and Pace tied late in the half. An early-half goal put Pace ahead 2-1, and the visitors scored again late in the second half as Dalton tried to tie.

Dalton travels to Ringgold to play Heritage Wednesday at 5:30.

Model 2, North Murray 1

North Murray (2-2) dropped 2-1 to Model (3-0) Friday night.

Jace Cameron scored the North Murray goal, while Josue Rodriguez had six saves.

North Murray next plays at home against Cedartown on Feb. 27.

Girls Southeast Whitfield 4, Eastside 2

Southeast Whitfield (4-0) took down Eastside (2-2) 4-2 Friday night.

Noely Hurtado put in two goals for the Lady Raiders, and Mayah Camacho and Allison Maldonado each had one.

Southeast plays at Coahulla Creek on Thursday at 5 p.m.

Northwest Whitfield 6, Rome 2

Northwest Whitfield (3-1) tripled the scoring of Rome (1-3) in a 6-2 win Friday.

Meryl Clark peppered in a hat trick with three goals and also tallied an assist. Jasmin Cortez had a goal and two assists, while Kierstyn Holland and Valeria Mascote each had a goal. Saidy Pallares had an assist.

Northwest gets Calhoun at home at 5 p.m. Wednesday.

Model 8, North Murray 0

North Murray (2-2) was shut out 8-0 by Model (2-1) Friday.

The Lady Mountaineers host Cedartown on Feb. 27.

Chattooga 5, Dalton Academy 0

Dalton Academy (0-4) was blanked 5-0 by Chattooga (2-0) Friday night.

The Lady Pumas play Pepperell at home on Tuesday at 5 p.m.

Adairsville 5, Murray County 1

Murray County (1-3) dropped 5-1 to Adairsville (4-1) Friday.

The Lady Indians play Christian Heritage at home on Thursday at 5 p.m.

Dalton (0-2-1) dropped a 1-0 game to Pace Academy (1-2-1) Friday night.
