High school soccer roundup: Dalton girls, Creek boys grab region championships

Mar. 26—Boys Coahulla Creek 9, Adairsville 0

Coahulla Creek (10-4-1) shut out Adairsville (4-6-2) 9-0 Tuesday to wrap up Region 6-3A play as an undefeated region champion.

The Colts finished region play 6-0 and scored 39 goals in region play while allowing just four.

In Tuesday's game, Miguel Arredondo piled up four goals, while Nathen Camacho had two. Jose Pacheco, Anderson Tobar and Diego Fraire each had one.

Cruz Barcenas tallied four assists, while Tobar had two and Omar Mendiola had one.

Creek plays April 9 against Heritage.

Dalton 9, Cartersville 0

Dalton (11-3-1) shut out Cartersville (3-11) 9-0 Tuesday night.

Ivan Rodriguez and Diego Paez each scored two goals for Dalton. Angel Salaises, Jose Tapia, David Saldana, Darwin Peinado and Alan Barragan all put in a goal apiece. Paez and Saldana both had two assists. Salaises, Tapia and Romeo Chavarria each had one.

Dalton hosts Chestatee on Thursday at 7:30 p.m.

Southeast Whitfield 2, Heritage 0

Southeast Whitfield (8-4) defeated Heritage (9-6) 2-0 Tuesday night to finish up its Region 7-4A slate undefeated.

Joseph Pina and Ismael Pimentel scored goals for Southeast.

Southeast finished region play 5-0 and wrapped up the region title with its win over Central last week.

The Raiders have won eight straight after starting the season 0-4.

Southeast plays at Dalton Academy tonight at 7.

North Murray 10, Haralson County 0

North Murray (5-8) blanked Haralson County (1-12-1) 10-0 Tuesday night.

Aven Cameron scored a trio of goals for North Murray.

Jace Cameron, Anthony Arredondo, Henry Pablo, Ben McGrath, Mikey Rodriguez, Ray De Leon and Daniel Tercero each scored one goals. De Leon had three assists, while Juan Pablo had two.

The Mountaineers play at Gordon Central Friday at 7 p.m.

Girls Dalton 4, Cartersville 0

Dalton (7-4-2) took down Cartersville (8-6) 4-0 Tuesday night to clinch a region championship for the fourth consecutive year.

Dalton's 4-0 win clinched the Lady Catamounts the Region 7-5A title. Dalton finished 5-0 in the region and scored 29 goals and allowed 0 in region play.

Ashley Estrada scored two goals in Tuesday's game, while Melanie Arriaga and Aliyah Rosales scored one apiece. Kendra Delgado had two assists, while Jasmin Moreno and Andrea Dominguez both had one.

Dalton will play at Southeast Whitfield Thursday night at 7:30.

Southeast Whitfield 5, Heritage 2

Southeast Whitfield (9-1) wrapped up second place in Region 7-4A with a 5-2 win over Heritage (7-4) Tuesday.

Mayah Camacho and Tania Dominguez both had two goals. Noely Hurtado had the other.

Southeast finishes second in the region to Northwest Whitfield.

The Lady Raiders host Dalton Thursday night at 7:30.

Adairsville 7, Coahulla Creek 0

Coahulla Creek (8-6) fell 7-0 at Adairsville (11-3) Tuesday night.

The loss wraps up Creek's Region 6-3A schedule with a 4-2 record.

The Lady Colts next play Central-Carrollton on April 12.

Haralson County 2, North Murray 1

North Murray (3-7-1) fell 2-1 to Haralson County (4-9) Tuesday night.

The Lady Mountaineers play at Gordon Central Friday at 5 p.m.
