High school roundup: Lisbon, Parishville-Hopkinton to clash in Section 10 Class D boys soccer final

Oct. 27—POTSDAM — Ty Jacobs and Noah Gendebien paired up on consecutive goals with 10 minutes of the second half as Lisbon moved into the Section 10 Class D title game with a 4-0 boys soccer victory over Heuvelton at Potsdam Central School.

Lisbon, sixth in Class D in the state, moved on to play unbeaten Parishville-Hopkinton for the title on Monday night. Parishville-Hopkinton, ranked No. 2 in the state, defeated Chateaugay in the other semifinal game.

Jacobs scored back-to-back on assists from Gendebien to put the Golden Knights (16-2) ahead by two. Cooper Rutherford scored Lisbon's first goal and an assist from Lucas Gravelin.

Tanner Fonda made three saves in goal for Lisbon, which has won 12 straight games since a 1-0 nonleague loss to Parishville-Hopkinton.

VOLLEYBALL

INDIAN RIVER 3, POTSDAM 0

Lilian De Alba served for 12 points and supplied 16 assist as Indian River completed a perfect regular season with a 25-15, 25-12, 25-21 Northern Athletic Conference victory over Potsdam on Senior Night in Philadelphia.

Jasmin Acevedo added 11 service points and three kills and Chasity Reff struck for five kills and seven service points. Alyssa Ojeda added six points and four kills and Ryleigh Fleming four points and four assists.

Indian River finished 18-0 and its junior varsity squad went 17-0.

MADRID-WADDINGTON 3, OFA 2

Madrid-Waddington outlasted Ogdensburg Free Academy 25-5, 17-25, 25-17, 22-15, 11-15 to finish in a tie for third place with Canton in the NAC West Division with its victory in Madrid.

Cadey Cole supplied 13 points and five assists for OFA and Tava Colburn added 12 points and 10 digs. Julia Kelso served for seven points.

CANTON 3, POTSDAM 0

Jose Gabriel totaled 14 kills as Canton swept Gouverneur in Canton. Emma Logan added seven assists, six points, four kills and three aces. Laurel Whittier added eight assists and five points, and Haley Perrin and Elle White each contributed five kills.
