High school basketball roundup: Christian Heritage boys take Chick-fil-A Christmas Classic championship

Christian Heritage is the Chick-fil-A Christmas Classic champion.

The Lions (11-2) completed a dominant three-game stretch in their home Christmas tournament with a 75-54 win over North Cobb Christian (10-3) in the championship game Saturday night to claim the crown. Christian Heritage won each game by at least 19 points.

On Saturday, Jax Abernathy led the way with 37 points, while Cash Hare scored 21 and grabbed 14 rebounds. Isaac Plavich scored eight.

Dalton 44, Allatoona 37

Dalton (4-9) snapped a six-game skid by defeating Allatoona (7-7) 44-37 Saturday to close out a three-game stretch in the Campbell Holiday Classic in Smyrna.

Drew Snyder and Kobi Cooper each had 10 for Dalton, while RJ Storey scored seven.

Dalton gets back to action Jan. 9 at home against Cartersville for the start of Region 7-5A play.

Girls Campbell 71, Dalton 36

Dalton (7-6) reached the championship game of the Campbell Holiday Classic Saturday night, but the hosts shut Dalton down there.

Campbell (9-5) defeated Dalton 71-36 in Smyrna on Saturday.

Dalton defeated Alexander 60-19 in the opening round, then moved past Westlake to reach the championship game.

Dalton starts Region 7-5A play against Cartersville on Jan. 9.
