Mets skipper Buck Showalter revealed the list of guest instructors the team will have in camp this spring, highlighting when each of the six alumni will be in Port St. Lucie.

The six Mets guest instructors (and the approximate dates they'll be in camp) are:

  • David Wright (March 1-2)

  • Edgardo Alfonso and Darryl Strawberry (March 2-6)

  • Mookie Wilson and Howard Johnson (March 5-10)

  • Al Leiter and John Franco (March 20-27)

Mike Piazza, who has previously made appearances at spring training, will not be at this year's camp as he will instead me managing Team Italy in the World Baseball Classic.

"It’ll be fun. Those guys are good," Showalter said. "They always have something to add, something to give. … We’ll take as much as they're willing to give, because they’ve got schedules too. Those guys are all good, nothing beneath them, they want to get into it, and we’ll work them."

Showalter also noted that Wright will work with third base prospects Brett Baty and Mark Vientos, while first base coach Wayne Kirby is looking forward to working with Wilson to help out in the base-stealing department.
