The Boston Celtics beat the Miami Heat 127 – 125 on a last-second tip by rookie Payton Pritchard in a day upstaged by the violence in the U.S. capitol.

The two teams decided to play despite the chaotic events surrounding the certification of President-Elect Joe Biden as the winner of the 2020 presidential election, and they put on quite a show in doing so. The Celtics jumped out to an early, big lead only to see the Heat claw their way back in with their elite 3-point shooting, with the two former 2020 Eastern Conference foes trading leads multiple times until the game’s waning minutes.

If you missed the game due to yesterday’s chaos, or want to see for yourself the very best plays from one of the better games of the still-young 2020-21 NBA season, watch the video embedded above.

In spite of the chaos that sent all of our day into something like an unexpected tailspin, it remains a bright spot of serenity to look back on.
