Hearts manager Eva Olid: "It is one of those games that you dominate but you are not clinical.
"We could have got three or four in the first half. We kept dominating and the goal arrived. This win against a difficult opponent was important.
Spartans boss Jack Beesley: "Our focus was just trying to build a togetherness, be a bit more difficult to break down. We rode our luck at times but I was really pleased and proud of the girls.
"I would have liked a little bit more going forward but the focus today was being harder to beat and we got that. I think Hearts definitely deserved to win, we can have no complaints about that.
"We are aware we are in a relegation battle but we believe we have the quality, desire and determination to be looking more at how we can pick off a team above. Hopefully then we get to a position where we are mathematically okay."
