Head Texas A&M baseball coach Jim Schlossnagle to receive the Turn it Gold Bolt Award

Sometimes, good deeds can go unnoticed, especially in college athletics, where NIL and the transfer portal dominate the media landscape. So, every once in a while, when we hear a story of athletes or coaches supporting the surrounding community, we try to highlight actions for everyone to become aware of.

Today, we acknowledge Coach Jim Schlossnagle’s recent honor by the Turn It Gold organization. It was announced that Coach Scholss will be presented with the Bold Award for his commitment to childhood cancer research and activism at the Turn It Gold Gala in Houston. Below, you can see the mission statement from the Turn It Gold Foundation.

“Turn It Gold fights for the voiceless youth in the pursuit of elevating childhood cancer awareness and generating bold action through online story sharing, events and media with hopes to change the percentage of dollars invested in childhood cancer research and make a real difference for a cure. #TURNITGOLD”

Congratulations to Coach Schlossnagle on this admirable honor and we’ll continue to bring to light any other good deeds that come out of Texas A&M Athletics.
