After a hot start for several of our esteemed group in week one of the college football season, the second weekend of action proved to be much more challenging.

Oklahoma’s upset of Ohio State put a loss on every one of our group of selectors last week and Arkansas tripped up a few more folks on a tough weekend.

Blair Sanderson and Mike Zierath were at the top of the standings last week with 5-1 records. One the other end of the spectrum, Torbee had a tough week at 2-4 as did Lyle Hammes, who was the only one to pick Iowa State to beat Iowa.

Blair Sanderson leads the way with an 11-1 mark on the season. Matt Randazzo is right on his heels at 10-2 overall.

Here are the picks for this week

Clemson vs Louisville

Florida vs Tennessee

Missouri vs Purdue

USC vs Texas

Kansas State vs Vanderbilt

North Texas vs. Iowa

Let’s hope for better results.

Iowa 34-14. Butler gets 2 TDs

MIKE ZIERATH (5-1 last week and 9-3 overall)

Clemson's Defense is just too much for Lamar Jackson and the Cardinals.

Tennessee makes Florida's Offense look pedestrian....still.

Purdue out scores Missouri.

USC goes to 5-0 all time vs Texas

K State keeps the Big 12 looking good with a win over an SEC opponent

Iowa moves to 3-0 against a feisty N. Texas offense, 45-21. My pick to click this weekend is Akrum Wadley, who gets a little rest and allows James Butler to get some extra work this week.

LYLE HAMMES (2-4 last week and 8-4 overall)

Clemson over Louisville Florida over Tennessee Missouri over Purdue USC over Texas Kansas State over Vandy

Anthony Nelson turns up the defensive heat with a couple quarterback sacks. Hawks win 34-14 and head into a tough Big Ten schedule.

BLAIR SANDERSON (5-1 last week and 11-1 overall)

Vanderbilt

I've got Iowa 42, North Texas 24. Pick to click is James Butler.

JOHN KERTH ( Missed out last week)

Clemson over Louisville

Tennessee over Florida

Purdue over Missouri

USC over Texas

Kansas State over Vanderbilt

It may not be as big a blowout as it was in 2015, but I expect Iowa to win this one pretty easily. Iowa 41, North Texas 17. Noah Fant picks up 80 yards and a couple of TDs for the Hawkeyes.

TOM KAKERT (4-2 last week and 9-3 overall)

Clemson in a close win over Louisville

USC pounds Texas

Kansas State in a tight win over Vandy

TORY BRECHT (2-4 last week and 6-6 overall)

I will take Louisville at home in a signature win for them.

Tennessee over Florida.

Missouri over Purdue

USC over Texas

Kansas State over Vandy

Iowa's defense is going to be angry this week. I think they hold down the Green Machine and Nate Stanley makes more strides. Iowa 45 NTSU 13. PTC is Josh Jackson with an INT and some nice returns.
